Summer Weekend
Please only bring old clothes, and remember that it still gets cold at night.
ESSENTIAL CLOTHING
- Scout Uniform
- 2 Shirts*
- 2 Jumpers*
- 2 Pairs of Trousers* (not jeans, which are useless in wet weather)
- 2 Pairs of Socks*
- 2 Changes of Underwear*
- Waterproofs (both tops and trousers)
- Hiking Boots and/or waterproof strong trainers
- Spare Trainers
- Sun hat
SLEEPING KIT
- Sleeping Bag
- Sleeping Mat
- Pyjamas
ESSENTIAL KIT
- Plate, Bowl & Mug
- Knife, Fork and Spoon
- 2 Old Tea Towels
- Sun cream (with a high SPF rating!)
- 500ml (or bigger) water bottle or equivalent
- Wash Kit
- Towel
- Torch
- Spare Torch Batteries
- Poly Bag for wet Clothes etc.
- Medicines if necessary
- Ruck-sack, big enough for lunch and taking waterproofs
- Insect repellent
OPTIONAL
- Frisbee/similar games
- Camp chair

* Allow for extra clothes if the camp runs for an extra day (Eg: Bank Holidays).
Summer Full Week
All personal kit to be packed in a rucksack or some other soft bag. Please mark all kit clearly.
Essentials:
- Sandals or other shoes that can get wet when canoeing
- Sleeping bag
- Watch
- Blanket (optional)
- Sleeping mat (the tents are not large enough for air beds)
- Waterproof trousers and jacket with hood
- 3 Complete sets of clothes
- Footwear (trainers are adequate but may get wet and muddy)
- Thick socks or 2 pairs of thin socks.
- Underwear (one set per day)
- Warm trousers (NOT jeans)
- T-Shirt
- Thick jumper or fleece
- Shorts
- Swimming trunks
- Towel
- Wash kit and toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, flannel.
- Plate, bowl, cup (unbreakable)
- Knife, fork, spoon.
- Tea towel
- Torch with spare batteries. Pack the batteries separately so they can run flat while in your bag.
- Bin Liner (for wet kit)
- Sun cream and any medicines needed.
- Insect repellent
- Small amount of money (£10 max) to spend during trips.
- Small-ish backpack and drinks bottle to carry lunch and drink while hiking (and sleeping bag/waterproofs for the canoeing)
- Packed lunch and drink for the journey out to camp on Sunday
Optional extras

- Compass, if you have one

- Camp chair (we will have benches though, so chairs are not essential)
Please Leave at Home
Phones, electronic items, and anything easily breakable.
Also, please do not bring huge hordes of sweets or chocolate. There will be lots of food and snacks available at the camp, and we do not want to attract rats or insects into the tents, following the scent of sweet food. Also Scouts do not sleep if they have too much sugar, and we have had cases of sickness in the past caused by bingeing on chocolate. Scouts please pack the bag yourself, so that you know where everything is!
Winter Weekend
Please bring clothes which you dont mind getting dirty, and remember that there is an increased risk that the weather will be cold and wet! You must be able to pack your own bag, look after yourself and your stuff!
ESSENTIAL CLOTHING

- Warm Coat or Fleece
- Waterproofs (both jacket AND trousers)
- Hiking Boots &/or Strong Trainers or Wellington Boots
- Spare Trainers
- Warm Hat
- Gloves
SLEEPING KIT
- Sleeping Bag (Either a 4-season winter bag or two normal bags, one inside the other)
- Sleeping Mat (or two, to provide extra insulation between the ground and you)
- Pyjamas
ESSENTIAL KIT
- Plate, Bowl & Mug
- Knife, Fork and Spoon
- Old Tea Towel
- Wash Kit
- Towel
- Torch (ideally a LED head torch)
- Spare Torch Batteries
